In
June 2005, Tammy closed out a 19-year commitment to some of the most needy
children within our community. In that 19-year period, she and Wayne were
foster parents. The last 11 years of service was focused on children who were
seriously ill or disabled. In their time as foster parents, they cared for over 60 children in their
home. Tammy's primary focus whenever a child came
to their home was to first stabilize the health of the child. Once that
had been done, she then turned her focus to the family of that child.
If a child came to our home, it was not just a reflection of their physical
health. It was also a reflection of something that was broken in the
home. God challenged Tammy to do all she could to help the family
of every child who came into her care. She did this through modeling proper
parenting skills and by sharing with them the life
changing difference that knowing Jesus can make. Being a foster parent
was not just her job. It was also her ministry and her passion.
Tammy is a credentialed minister with the
Assemblies of God.
