MINISTRY SCHEDULE
ABOUT THE ALDERMAN'S Prior
to our missions appointment,we had been active laypeople at
Niceville Assembly of God in Niceville, FL working in various
ministries. We have been on several short-term missions trips to
South America, the Caribbean, Europe and Asia.
Outside of
working in many different ministries in the church over the years, John
has worked as an active duty member in the United States Air Force.
He was stationed at Hurlburt Field AFB, FL as a carpenter and later at
Eglin AFB, FL as a leadership school instructor. He also spent 7
months in Saudi Arabia during Operations Desert Shield/Desert Storm.
After completing his second enlistment, he was honorably discharged
and worked for several construction companies before becoming a
building contractor himself. Prior to his missionary
appointment, he worked part-time as as a contractor
and full-time as a firefighter.
After spending a
few years as a Sunday school teacher and nursery worker, Shawn found her
calling as the Nursery Coordinator at Niceville Assembly of God
and filled that position for 15 years. Currently she home
schools Monica, Mallorie, and J.B., keeps John in line, and is, of course,
the much needed navigator and co-pilot on all trips that exceed 30
minutes.
Monica, who is now
15,
likes most every sport and is a great help to us all. Her favorite
subject in school is writing. She also likes to design
clothes. She is our fashion consultant when we are
shopping.
Mallorie is 12 years old. She loves horses, likes to draw
and enjoys reading. Her favorite books are the Mandie series by Lois
Gladys Leppard, the Cooper Kids series by Frank Peretti and any books
about horses.
J.B., at 11
years old, is about as active as a boy can get. He likes building
LEGO's, jumping on the trampoline, and of course, pestering his
sisters. He also enjoys martial arts. He
has earned a brown belt in taekwondo and a yellow belt in
karate.
Zara is the newest
member of our family. She is a Malinois (Belgian Shepherd)
and is 1 1/2 years old. She is very playful and friendly.
She has learned to sit, shake hands, lay down, roll over, and, most
importantly, she is house
trained.
