The city of Khabarovsk in the Russian Far East
Pronouncing the name of this city: It has some sounds that
are not in English, that is why the funny spelling. In English just drop
the first “K”. And the one “v” almost disappears and sounds more like an “f”,
which also makes it easier to say. So say Habarofsk [ Ha-BAR-ofsk ].
If that is still too hard just say Habarask. A
Russian will still understand it well enough to know which city you mean.
