Media can mean just about anything these days.  There is print media, the old standard and grandfather of all media.  Then there is new media: audio, video, internet, broadcast, game machines, telephones, and any other means of mass communication that leverages the latest in technology.  Unfortunately, the church seems to be years behind the world in leveraging most of these forms of media.

In November 2008, Wayne was privileged to be able to travel to Thailand to participate in a media planning workshop with other missionaries from across the region.  One of the greatest areas of need that was identified in these meetings was the need for ministry tools that will reach youth and young families.  Imagine, the area where ministry resources are most lacking is the demographic that is most receptive to receiving information, training, motivation, education, and encouragement through the newest media tools.

Once he completes language study, Wayne will turn his attention to development of a media ministry program specifically focused on reaching the people of Thailand with the good news.  In pursuit of this cause, Wayne will work closely with Thai pastors as well as with international missionaries who are working to reach this country.  These new media tools will provide an effective means of communicating the gospel to the Thai people and provide one more tool for developing Christ followers.
